The University of St Andrews Tennis Centre was completed in March 2018 as the final phase in the £14 million pound redevelopment of the Performance Centre.
Jointly funded by the University of St Andrews, Sportscotland, Tennis Scotland, the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), a private donor and the St Andrews alumni community, the centre is an LTA Registered Venue and hosts a wide range of tennis activities throughout the year, including a comprehensive lessons programme, holiday camps, championships and tour events.
Previous events include:
- ■ Tennis Scotland TS 500 Open Progressive Tour event
- ■ Scottish Student Sport Championships
- ■ Scottish Student Sport Cup Finals
The centre comprises:
- ■ 4 indoor courts
- ■ 4 outdoor sand-dressed courts
Indoor courts
The one-star ITF recognised indoor courts in St Andrews are constructed from Plexipave Standard, with an ITF Category 3 (medium pace) rating and are finished in US Open Blue and Florida Green.
The centre benefits from the latest performance analysis technology and features a spectator balcony that runs the length of the indoor facility.

Outdoor courts
The indoor facility is supplemented by four sand-dressed outdoor courts which also benefit from video analysis technology.
