What to expect
Standard Hockey Camps
Our standard hockey camp has been running for a number of years and offer a fun, safe and inclusive environment for 13 to 18-year olds to better their knowledge of the game
The unique camp allows players freedom to go into the town of St Andrews during the evenings and explore the unique setting while learning new technical, tactical and social skills through our standout programme content.
During Week 1 of our programme this year, players who want to train to a high level (Performance Camp) can now attend a camp with their friends who may not take hockey as seriously (Standard Camp). The two camps will run in tandem, but some training elements as well as our exceptional social programme will be combined.
Aimed at District or County standard players, our Performance Camp will allow more serious players to improve their game through a mix of tactical focussed training, technical coaching and 11 v 11 matches.
Along side hockey training the participants will experience sessions from specialist staff in nutrition, performance analysis, fitness testing and strength and conditioning.

I think the combination of really good coaching, fun activities and a bit of freedom is great
Hockey is catered for by a full-size floodlit sand-dressed synthetic pitch, which will be the base for all our camps.
Our dedicated Strength & Conditioning Suite provides a space for our Performance Camp to train and learn from our accredited coaches undisturbed away from our regular gym users. The Performance Suite features five lifting stations, a three-lane plyometric track and designated ‘rehab zone’.
Visitors to University Park also have access to a variety of multi-sport courts and all-weather pitches, plus an 8-court sports arena, 4-court indoor tennis centre and technical climbing wall. These facilities will all be used during our social sports in the evenings.
Director of Hockey
Jamie has worked with the University programme for over 5 years and through that time has won Scottish Hockey Coach of the Year and worked with the Scottish Hockey Performance Programme. He is currently working with the Scotland U15 Development squad and has previously coached in the USA at various summer camps.
Jamie will be supported by a team of highly qualified coaches from across the UK and beyond to create a unique summer camp experience for all.
Hockey is a great team sport and can take you around the world to meet new people. Our social programme is just as important as the hockey training and through our camps we provide children with the opportunity to interact and make new friends with people from across Scotland and Europe.
The social programme includes rock climbing, badminton, tennis, yoga, Zumba and the highlight from our 2019 camp, a beach bonfire on the Thursday night.
Players will stay in single rooms in David Russell Apartments and get a feel for the independence that University can bring. This modern 3-star accommodation, boasts en-suite shower rooms with a double bed and a TV, plus a shared open-planned social area.
The development boasts a restaurant and a number of large social spaces, which will be used for meals (all food is included) and the evening programme throughout the week.
The camp also allocates time for players to experience all the attractions the beautiful town of St Andrews has to offer, which is only a 10-minute walk away.
