Facilities

St Andrews has long been a favoured training destination of many professional rugby teams including Gloucester, Edinburgh and Newcastle Falcons. Our most recent visitors, the Scottish National team, are also regular users of our facilities. With St Andrews being a regular training camp venue, you might get a glimpse of your rugby heroes in action.

Coaching team

A team of highly qualified coaches and specialist University staff, will support Scott throughout the camp to ensure rugby development is at the forefront, whilst also catering for the pastoral needs of all involved.

Our coaches are continually developing their skill sets to be at the forefront of the modern game and hold UKCC level 2 and 3 qualifications.

The camp will be underpinned by best coaching practice as outlined in Scottish Rugby’s technical blueprint, and will utilise the RFU’s CARDS philosophy.

Most importantly, we aim to provide our exclusive elite level coaching in a fun and enjoyable environment.

Quintan Sanft is a vastly experienced former Samoan international, who as well as being St Andrews 1st XV backs coach is also Head coach of local side Kirkcaldy.

Sarah Hogwood is St Andrews Women’s 1st XV lead coach and full-time development officer, and brings her specialised knowledge of the Women’s game both at senior and age grade level, alongside her expertise in coaching regional academy sides.

Social programme

Rugby is an incredibly social sport and can take you around the world to meet new people, so our social programme is just as important as the rugby. Options for our evening activities include rock climbing, badminton, tennis, yoga and Zumba, beach BBQ.

With players from different countries attending camp, this is a great opportunity to meet new individuals from across the world and make friends for life.
